Disguise Aging Eyes

July 22, 2015

The delicate area around the eyes is one of the first places to show visible signs of aging. Dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles around the eyes can make an individual look and feel older than you really are. Dr. Olson offers longer term solutions than concealer. Here are 6 ways to disguise aging eyes.

1. Botox and Dysport

When precisely injected they are used to relax specific muscles. When you choose an experienced specialist for your customized Botox and Dysport treatment you can accomplish a natural and finessed look. Dr. Olson uses Botox and Dysport for brow lifting, facial shaping, bunny lines, frown and anger expressions, create more positive expression and appearance, correct asymmetry of facial expression, crows feet and to open the eyes.

2. Fillers

A deeper tear trough can create a shadow that is perceived as a dark circle below the eye. It also creates a division between the lower eyelid and cheek. By filling in this hollow area, dark shadows under the eyes may be corrected with minimal downtime. Resylane and Restylane Silk are Dr. Olson’s preferred filler for the under eye area, or tear trough.

Areas injected around the eyes and orbit require precise placement of volumisers and advanced knowledge of the anatomy of the orbit and eyes to give a natural believable result and avoid unwanted effects. In this video Dr. Olson demonstrates how she uses Restylane to soften the under eye area https://www.doctorjaneolson.com/videos/.

3. Microneedling

This cutting edge technique stimulates the production of collagen in the skin. The Rejuvapen microneedling treatment is used to improve wrinkles and induce skin tightening to treat fine lines under the eyes and crows feet.

4. Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

An upper eyelid lift can help reverse the aging process by removing or repositioning excess skin and fat, enhancing your natural contours and restoring the expressive qualities of your eyes. The upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be done alone or with other procedures such as a lower lid lift, ptosis repair (muscle tuck) and laser resurfacing. Dr. Olson’s surgical technique can make a remarkable difference in the appearance of the eyes.

5. Lower Lid Blepharoplasty

A lower lid lift is used to remove or reposition the fat bulges and loose skin of the bottom eyelids. Many factors, including heredity, smoking and sun damage accelerate these changes. You may appear tired, sad and older than you feel. Lower eyelid surgery will correct this, leaving you with a more youthful contour and alert appearance.

::Eyelid surgery may be performed at any age and all times of the year in the office based setting. 99% of surgeons are NOT eye specialist – ASOPRS surgeons are extensively trained and experienced oculofacial surgeons::

6. Latisse

Latisse works to stimulate growth from the lash follicles. You can expect to experience longer, fuller and darker eyelashes in as little as 8 weeks, with full results in 16 weeks.
