Kybella, also known as ATX-101, is identical to deoxycholic acid which is naturally produced in your body. Deoxycholic produced in the body helps the body absorb fats. Kybella is a cytolytic fluid, which when injected into the tissue physically destroys the cell membrane. When properly injected into submental fat, the drug destroys fat cells and improves your contour under the chin.
Most patients require 2 – 3 treatment sessions. There is swelling under the chin after treatment and results are gradual.
